Force Feeding System of rolling

Force Feeding Attachment for Thread Rolling Machines:

We design and manufacture Force Feeding Spline Rolling Attachment for those who are already having Thread Rolling Machines, which have both the slides moving towards the centre. With this Attachment, we can roll long splines, helical splines with a lesser width roll i.e, with a 40width roll, we can roll 100 width splines or longer.

Both the circular Spline Rolls are brought in a position, such that the PCD of the left hand Roll coincides with the PCD of the component, and then to the PCD of the right hand Roll. Both the Rolls as well as the component are in position just like a transmission gear chain.

Eg: In a gear train, there are 3 gears in contact with each other. So if there are 100 teeth meshing with the middle gear of 30 teeth, then again 100 teeth are on the other side (100 x 30 x 100). If the first gear of 100 teeth rotates in a clockwise direction, the middle gear of 30 teeth will rotate in an anti-clockwise direction and the next 100 teeth will rotate in a clockwise direction. At this condition, if you push the middle gear axially, it can fall back from the meshing condition.  

The same principle is used in our Hydraulic Spline Rolling Machine with Force Feeding System of Spline Rolling. The pre-determined Blank Dia is kept in place of 30 teeth gear and hydraulically the blank is forced through/between the two Spline Rolls (100 x 100, as per the example). Because of the force as well as the Rolls being in position, the blank is squeezed between the 2 Rolls and takes the form of the Rolls. Because we are starting from the end of the blank, the formation of the Spline continues as long as we push the blank by force into the Dies. The longer the push, the longer the Spline will be, though the Roll remains the same length. There is no need of wider Rolls for longer Splines. In other words, with 40mm width Spline Rolls, we can roll even 80 or 100mm long Splines.

Another advantage is that with a smaller tonnage machine, longer Splines can be rolled.
